Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR/EVAR)
Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR) and Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) are advanced, minimally invasive procedures designed to treat aneurysms or dissections in the aorta – the largest artery in the body. These techniques provide a safer alternative to open surgery, offering shorter recovery times, less pain, and reduced risk for patients, particularly those at higher surgical risk.
In these procedures, a stent graft (a fabric-covered metal tube) is inserted through a small incision in the groin and guided to the weakened or damaged section of the aorta using advanced imaging. Once in place, the stent graft reinforces the artery walls, preventing rupture and restoring normal blood flow.
- *TEVAR* is specifically used to treat thoracic aortic aneurysms or dissections, which occur in the chest region
- .*EVAR* is used for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), a life-threatening condition that affects the abdominal segment of the aorta.
These therapies are ideal for patients with large aneurysms, dissections, or other aortic abnormalities, especially when traditional surgery poses significant risks.
Since his first training in endovascular aortic repair in Holland in 2008, Dr. Sai Satish has been at the forefront of performing these life-saving procedures. With over a decade of experience managing complex aortic conditions, he has been regularly involved in some of the most challenging TEVAR and EVAR cases, providing patients with innovative, minimally invasive solutions.
His expertise in advanced imaging techniques, stent graft technology, and patient-centered care ensures optimal outcomes for individuals with such critical aortic conditions. Dr. Sai Satish’s dedication to continuous learning and his hands-on experience with these procedures, underscored by his commitment to offering the best possible care for his patients, and has helped patients avoid life-threatening complications and lead fuller lives.
